Pre-School

2 Year Old Class

A child must be 2 and a half  years old by September 30th. The main goal we set for our two year olds is for each child to achieve their highest level of personal growth. For some, this may be learning to separate from their parent, and for others it may be learning to share a toy with a classmate. Their classroom activities include:

» imaginative play with each other
» art projects
» introduction to colors and shapes
» other manipulatives

Large motor skills are developed in physical education, creative movement, outside playtime, and moving from one place to another within our school. These steps alone provide an excellent daily workout. Small motor skills are developed in various activities.

In the computer lab students use age and skill appropriate software to compliment and enhance their overall learning experience.

Children also attend classes in art and music. These classes are taught by professionals who specialize in these fields.

3 Year Old Class

A child must be 3 years of age by September 30th and must be toilet trained to enter the three year old class.

Students concentrate on accentuating their knowledge of colors and shapes. They work on units pertaining to the 5 senses and community helpers. They also learn to utilize their fine motor, listening, and discriminatory skills while working in their WEEKLY READER series.

Fine motor skills are developed with cutting, coloring, and the use of manipulatives. Children begin to recognize their names, letters of the alphabet, and numbers….
